Adopt a proactive strategy of prevention through training, education, and real time support

Reducing Risk Exposure

There are many actions an employer can take that can significantly reduce exposure to violent events in the workplace.

  • Create "Zero Tolerance" for violence of any kind with strict policies, investigative procedures, and consequences.

  • Investigate every report of possible violence.  The majority of perpetrators of violence publicly discuss their plan.

  • Educate supervisors about this risk.  Utilize the annual trainings provided through your EAP.

  • Encourage supervisors to use Human Resources or their EAP representative for troubleshooting.  Our services are around the clock, around the globe for this reason.

  • Adopt a proactive strategy of prevention through training, education, and real time support.

  • High risk sectors may want to consider insurance coverage to mitigate financial losses.  Typical policies cover:

  • Business losses incurred during an investigation
  • Death and medical benefits
  • Post-incident psychological counseling
  • Reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of responsible party
